Susan Urbanc
Susan Urbanc is a well known Tasmanian contemporary artist who paints in watercolours, oils and mixed medium.

She teaches painting through adult education classes and private tuition.

Susan has won prizes for painting and drawing, and was one of twenty selections for the Australia wide Winsor and Newton Art Prize. In 2002, she won the Tasmanian Watercolour Award.

She attended drawing classes at the Launceston Technical College in the 1940's and as an adult took part in Adult Education painting, life drawing classes and art theory and practice at Elizabeth College in Hobart.

She participated in 10 days painting at the Grange, Campbelltown with Andrew Sibley, Tom Cleghorn, and Jeffrey Makin. She also did Easter sessions with Greg Hind and Terrence Gough. Along with other Victorian and Tasmanian artists she did 10 days in the Flinder's Ranges in South Australia.

Susan spent 3 months painting in France and Italy with 2 other Tasmanian artists and had an exhibition of her work in Bergerac, France.

In the last 3 decades, she has had 12 solo exhibitions, the most recent being Artist of the Month at the Strickland Gallery, the Hotel Grand Chancellor and the Tower Gallery, Cambridge.

Her paintings are in corporation collections in Tasmania and in private collections globally.
