Charles Lewis (Lou) Jillett was born on 23 March 1889 in Oatlands. He married Rita Sealy in 1913 and they had four children. He was a draper in New Norfolk from 1914 until he became ill with Parkinsons in 1943.  He died on 5 January 1945 at the age of 55, and was buried at Cornelian Bay.
