The New Norfolk branch of the Shoe Mart opened in October 1938 in an earlier building that had been modernised after being taken over from the late businessman and parliamentarian Mr JG Brown.  When this building burned down the O’Conor family built three new shops on the site, which are the present 65, 65a and 67 High Street.
