Waddamana Power Station Museum

Located at almost the geographical centre of Tasmania, Waddamana is the site of one of the first hydro-electric power stations in Tasmania. Built in 1910, the power station was decommissioned in 1965, but the 110kV switchyard remains a critical node in Tasmania’s electricity network.

Waddamana hydro-electric power station is now a fascinating museum, with restored machinery and displays on the pioneer days of power development in the highlands. Picnic and barbecue facilities are available.
